2023 North Block

North Block is named for the northern vineyard blocks at Cornell, located along the edge of the property, where cooler exposures, deeper soils, and a sheltered ridgeline create a uniquely expressive growing environment. Soft morning light and gentler afternoons allow the fruit to mature with composure, preserving lift and aromatic nuance.

Led by Cabernet Franc and Merlot, and inspired by the classical traditions of Bordeaux’s Right Bank, North Block reflects a deliberate exploration of these varieties when grown for balance rather than power. Two distinct Cabernet Franc clones bring clarity, red-toned fruit, and herbal notes, while Merlot adds texture, generosity, and quiet depth. Together, they form a wine defined by elegance, restraint, and harmony.
